Limes

lime too too soon . . . young-plucked
emerald-hard . . . heavy
mature rots
flat spots
of brown . . . down . . . and around
tomorrow not ripe
always not mellow
bleeds aromatic yellow
new juices flow
never in prime
lime

lime clean . . . jewel green
pucker up baby
cut slice suck
reveals amber drip
bitter-sour fragrant
succulent segments
white stripes to truncate
one into two
four into eight
any time
lime

lime fresh . . . perishing
sweat spray and sugar
eye-sized Keys
vivid smack pop sqeezed
and whipped cream
smells like a good dream
whisk until gleaming
egg folds into sweet milk embrace
kiss on face
grate rind
lime

lime alone . . . languishing
coriander seeds
cilantro leaves
crushed garlic chili
sprinkled in easy
mango pickle jalapeno - oh
Kaffir - don’t waste
boil in salt-water
sun-dry to stone
and paste
devine
lime

lime piquante . . . pining
salted body shots
lick bite tang
skin stings bikini strings zesty zing
squirting like sun
frozen agave concoction
offers fun
this tiny chartreuse celestial sphere
right here
all mine
lime
